What's all this?
Essentially, I am torturing paint by exposing half a swatch to sunlight. Fading is the enemy of original art! Living in a cave is, currently, out of most of our budgets - so I am testing my paints.
I originally forgot about my first swatch of Alizarin Crimson - a paint that is often recommended as a basic palette staple. It had faded to near white!
I know a lot of people are attached to it - so I wanted to give it another go...this time with frequent check ins. Though, now that we're approaching the cold, dark, sunless ice-scape of winter it will need to be less frequent. After all, in a few weeks there will barely be any sun.
As you can see here, the two halves are now two different colors. Or at least, they would be if the image uploader didn't "helpfully" add vibrance.
The side with the picture of the sun is the half that stays taped in the window.
