This little kalanchoe was a bargain succulent from the home improvement store. It thrives on a windowsill, receiving the occasional splash of used paint water. It is hidden from my fussing fingers by a barrier of bigger, safe to chew, plants placed there for our grazing cat (the things we do to have cats and houseplants coexist). It has proven to be a rather independent little organism, which is unexpected for a potted plant! But really, who wouldn't want to be independent, no matter where they end up?
